For more than 150 years, Rosseau General Store has been part of the fabric of the Rosseau and Muskoka community. We're a country general store built around great food, friendly service, and the kind of experience that keeps people coming back — groceries, butcher and deli, bakery, ice cream, hardware, and cottage essentials, all under one roof. We're a community store first: we know most of our customers by name, and we want every person who walks through the door to feel welcome.

The Role

Working the floor and the counter

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys people, food, and retail. You'll work closely with our Butcher and Store Manager, and become an important part of day-to-day life at the store. We aren't looking for someone with a career behind a butcher counter — we're looking for the right attitude, a strong work ethic, and a genuine interest in learning.

What You'll Do

Provide friendly, attentive service to every customer
Support the butcher & deli counter — preparing, packaging, presenting product
Learn our meats and food offerings so you can guide customers confidently
Merchandise, stock, and maintain attractive product displays
Keep the butcher counter and food areas clean and organized
Support receiving, rotation, and stocking of inventory
Follow food safety and store operating procedures
Jump in wherever the team needs support

Who We're Looking For

Genuinely enjoys working with people and serving customers well
Interested in food, cooking, meat, grocery, or retail
Dependable — shows up and takes pride in the work
Thrives on a small, close-knit team
Comfortable learning new skills and new responsibilities
Notices what needs doing and jumps in without being asked
Comfortable with busy weekends, holidays, and summer season
Retail, grocery, restaurant, or food-service experience is a plus — we're happy to train the right person
